Four people arrested, for allegedly attacking Police station; stealing riffles

Four suspected hoodlums alleged to have attacked one of the police area commands located at Ngbo community in Ohaukwu LGA of Ebonyi State were on Friday apprehended.

CRIMECHANNELS gathered that the suspects were arrested through a joint operation of the police and Technical Assistants to the Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi on security at Ngbo community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

According to sources, the suspected hoodlums were reported to have attacked a police commander whose name was yet to be identified at the time of filing this report.

It was learnt that the suspected hoodlums had attacked Ngbo Area command and attempted to cart away with ammunition during their operation.

However, they ran out of luck when Ngbo Central Security Organization, led by Mr. Leonard Igwe and some security operatives apprehended them.

Reacting to the development, the Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Barr. Clement Odah said the suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigation.

He also revealed that the Police recovered two AK47 rifles from the armed robbers during their arrest.

“I write to report that the leader of one of my security outfits, Ngbo Central Security Organization, led by Mr. Leonard Igwe with the support of TA’s on security has arrested 4 suspects in connection with the attack of the Area Commander. All have been handed over to the DPO,” he stated.

The spokesperson of Ebonyi state Police command, DSP, Loveth Odah when contacted for comment said she has not been properly briefed on the incident, however, she said when she gets information about the incident, she will let the public know.
