Gunmen kill Chief Imam’s Wife after collecting N2 million Naira ransom
Despite collecting a ransom of two million naira, kidnappers of the senior Wife of the Chief Imam of Nomadic Central Mosque in Rugan Ardo, Isyaka Adamu, have reportedly killed her.
The Daily Post reported that the bandits had on February 11, 2023, Kidnapped the four wives of the chief Imam and killed the cleric afterwards.
The Madaki of Janjala, Samaila Babangida, was said to have confirmed the death of the chief Imam.
But not long after, Babangida said the bandits shot the senior wife of the Imam, and released the remaining three.
He stressed that it was after receiving the two million naira ransom that the bandits’ leader shot and killed the senior wife and released the rest.
It was gathered that the bandits had since refused to release the coprse of the Chief Imam’s wife they killed, a development which he said has thrown the community into deep mourning.
“I boarded one of the motorcycles that took the money and foodstuff to them. It was after they collected the money that their leader opened fire on the senior wife,” he said.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige did not respond to calls and a text message sent to him.
