After Killing spree, Boko/Haram return to Borno village, set houses on fire

Barely 24 hours after armed men suspected to be boko Haram terrorists stormed Foduma Kolomaiya, a remote village in the northern part of Borno State, they have allegedly returned to the community to set houses ablaze.

It would be recalled that the terrorist group invaded the community on Tuesday, killing about 69 people around noon.

In the operation that lasted for about two hours, not less than 300 cows were killed and nearly 1000 more were rustled in the community that is 11 kilometres away from Gazaure town of Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State.

According to a resident source, the insurgents visited them again around 6am on Wednesday, shooting sporadically into the air, while the villagers were preparing to bury the corpse of the dead persons and set their houses ablaze.


The source added that many houses have been razed down currently in the community after the recent attack on Wednesday.

A security force, confirmed the incident, adding that the security personnels received distress calls from the community in the early hours of Wednesday and even though the condition of the place could not be ascertained, he is sure that the troops would respond swiftly.
