Airline staff arrested for allegedly seeking bribe at the Airport

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced the arrest of a staff of Arik Airline for requesting bribe from a passenger at the General Aviation Terminal in Lagos.

FAAN General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu confirmed the development in a statement in Lagos on Tuesday.

Yakubu confirmed that the On-Duty Card [ODC] of the erring staff was withdrawn immediately, and she has been handed over to the relevant security agency for appropriate action in order to serve as deterrent to other bad eggs in the airport.

“Officials were also directed to always wear conspicuous name tags anytime they are on duty.

“airport managers have been directed to ensure that all stakeholders at the airports are properly sensitised on the new development as there will be no sacred cows.”
