Anger as Govs choose AGF Malami Son’s wedding over burial of late Chief of Army Staff

As Nigerians continue to mourn the death of General Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff, and 10 others who died in a plane crash on Friday, it has become a story of two tales as some Governors were no where to be found at the burial of the departed Military officers in Abuja, instead, they chose to be in Kano State, to celebrate with Abubakar Malami, Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice on the wedding of his son.

This has brought some kind of backlash from Nigerians, who feel that the Military officers who gave their all during their life time to their country should not be disrespected in that manner.

At the venue of the funeral, it was also gathered that the President, Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo were conspicuously absent. However, the burial was attended by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Kano State, there was a lavish wedding ceremony of the AGF’s son, Abiru Rahman Malami. It was learnt that the groom married his bride at Alfurqan Juma’at Mosque.

Among the Governors who attended the wedding were Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto) Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano) and Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi).

The late COAS, General, Ibrahim Attahiru was appointed by President Mohammadu Buhari on Jan 15, after a Military shake up that saw his predecessor, Gen. Buratai sacked.

It was learnt that the late General was on his way to Kaduna State when the accident that claimed his life and 10 others occurred.
