APC set to annoubce convention date amid Buni-led panel meeting

There are possibility that the precise date for the convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will soon be revealed as the Buni-led panel is set to meet next Tuesday.

It was reported on Saturday that a source close to the party hierarchy said the Buni-panel has decided to meet by Tuesday to further deliberate on the convention date that the Progressive Governors Forum has picked for the party at its last meeting on Sunday.

According to the cable, the source said: “Following Sunday’s scheduled meeting of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, the party’s caretaker committee will meet on Tuesday, 18th January, 2022 on the convention.”

“By Sunday, we will tell you when we’re doing the convention. We have taken a date already,” Lalong was quoted by the Cable to have said.

“We said we are going to do a convention in February and we are still working for the convention. As far as I’m concerned, except things change from another angle, we’re working for our convention in February,” the governor further said.

But as no date was communicated after the Sunday meeting, the source said all attention now turns to the Tuesday meeting of the panel meeting.
