Armed robbers dressed in Police uniform fleeing in stolen vehicle arrested in hospital after crashing the car

Three [3] men, who were said to have snatched a Toyota Camry at gunpoint in Ondo State and were trying to escape by driving to Lagos have reportedly been arrested after crashing the vehicle at Ode Remo in Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

According to reports, the men were initially rescued by some Policemen from Ode-Remo divisional headquarters and were rushed to the Hospital.

According to Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun State, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi,
the suspects were receiving treatment when the DPO of Ode Remo division, Fasogbon Olayemi, received a call that the vehicle involved in the accident was snatched by 3 male robbers at gunpoint.

He said that the DPO quickly ordered that they should be placed under arrest right in the Hospital.

Oyeyemi disclosed that one of the 3 men, Emeka John involved in the motor accident died from his wounds.


He further said that, “the owner of the vehicle who came all the way from Ondo state explained that he was accosted on the road by a gang of 5 men dressed like Policemen, and that he was dragged out of the car at gunpoint and the vehicle was taken away.”

Oyeyemi said that the other 2 suspects, Sunday Emmanuel and Idris Ibrahim would be transferred to the state CIID on the order of Edward Ajogun, the State Commissioner of Police in Ogun State.
