The people of kadisau village in Faskari LGA of Katsina state have been thrown into sorrow as armed bandits killed 20 people in the village.
The incident, which occured on Wednesday around 4am, according to a resident, was said to have claimed the lives of 20 people as the residents ganged up to resist them.
When quizzed on the incident, the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command, SP Gambo Isah, explained that the unfortunate incident occured because of the resistance of the villagers when the armed bandits attacked to steal animals and food items.
He added that while 16 of the deceased died on spot, 4 others died at the hospital.
He explained further that while 3 people were killed at Unguwar Wahabi, 9 were killed at Kabalawa, 5 at Kwakware, and one at Raudama. He lamented that a woman was raped as well during the attack with animals stolen.
Mr Hassan Mohammed, a former chairman of Faskari LGA also confirmed the incident and added that some corpse were found at the outskirts of the village in an irrigation farm.
He further urged the military to rise up to their responsibility by protecting the lives and properties of the people.
It will be recalled that the state has been a target of the bandits, prompting President Muhammadu Buhari to order the Nigerian Army to deal with the bandits precisely in order to allow peace to return to the land.
