BREAKING; Fourteen [14] persons shot dead as gunmen attack Police Station to free their members

The Police has confirmed that its operatives has killed 14 bandits during a gun shootout, when bandits attacked a Police Station in Katsina-Ala town, in Benue State on Sunday morning.

CRIMECHANNELS gathered that the Police Public Relations Officer of the Benue State Command, DSP Kate Anene, confirmed the incident to Journalist on Sunday.

He said that the Police had arrested some bandits and detained them at Katsina-Ala Divisional Police Station on Saturday for further investigation.

He however, said that on Sunday morning, at about 1am, some gunmen suspected to be bandits numbering about 50, grouped themselves and attacked the station in an attempt to free the suspects who are part of their gang.

The Police PPRO said that when the bandits came to the station, some Police officers who were on duty at the station engaged the bandits, and in the course of the gun battle, killed 14 of them.


He also said that some of the bandits were injured during the gun battle, he however said they fled into the bush.

The Command urged members of the public to assist the Police by providing credible information with which they can use to apprehend bandits and other criminal elements in the state.
