BREAKING: INEC announces winner of Guber elections in Delta, Plateau States

It was a big blow for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as its candidates lost out in the Saturday governorship elections held in Delta and Plateau State.

In the case of Delta State, the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege, who is the current Deputy Senate President, lost out galantly to the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

According to the latest results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the PDP candidate polled 360,234 votes to defeat Ovie Omo-Agege of the APC, who secured 240,229 votes, while the Labour Party candidate, Ken Pella, came third with 48,047 votes.

For Plateau State, the current governor of the state, Simon Bako Lalong, having lost in the Senatorial election held two weeks ago, could not also help his party’s gubernatorial candidate in the state, Nentawe Yilwatda, who polled 481,370 votes as against the 525,299 votes that the PDP candidate, Caleb Mutfwang, had to be declared the winner of the election.
