BREAKING; Police Inspector arrested for giving out 2 AK-47 riffles, vehicle to armed robber

A Police Inspector identified as Nathaniel Manasseh, attached to the Cross Rivers Police Command has been apprehended by the Police for his involvement in loaning his weapons to notorious armed robbers.

According to sources, it was learnt that the Police officer, when he was interrogated, claimed that some criminals charmed him and dispossessed him out of his weapons including 2 Ak-47 and a vehicle.

Thus was made know to the Public by the Commissioner of Police in Cross Rivers State, Sikiru Akande.

Sikiru noted that since the resumption of the new Commander of Anti-Kidnapping and Cultism Squad, AKCTS, Linus Onyekwere, the Command has apprehended several criminals and cultists.

Among those he said the Anti-cultism squad arrested was a Police Inspector, whom he he said was into the business of loaning out his weapons to the highest bidder in an attempt to make quick cash.


He also said that 9 persons were arrested for kidnapping, 3 persons were apprehended for murder, and 4 persons were arrested for armed robbery.

During interrogation, the Police Inspector said that he was charmed by the armed robbers and after that, he couldn’t find his weapons. He claimed that he didn’t know any thing about renting his guns out, that it wasn’t the case.

He said, “I was charmed. I can’t really explain what happened and how they dispossessed me of the riffles. I am not a gunrunner.”

Meanwhile, Akande said that the suspects will be charged to Court after the Police must have completed investigation.
