Buhari’s Directive: Ngige yet to resign, says what he will do concerning Presidential ambition
Senator Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, has responded to President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive that all Ministers vying for elective post in 2023 should resign.
President Buhari had instructed cabinet members who have stated presidential ambitions to quit before Monday, May 16th, at a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday.
Ngige responded to this by saying he is not in a rush to quit and that he has to consult with President Muhammadu Buhari and his constituents before submitting any resignation letter.
Buhari, he claims, provided a window for anybody who needed explanations on his statements to meet with him.
“I have no reaction for now because the President said if anyone wants clarifications, the person should meet him.
“So I have to consult him and consult my constituents, Anambra state because I am holding the office for the government and my constituents,” he said.
