Commissioner of Police presents cheques to 7 deceased Police officers’ families
The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ayuba N. Elkanah, has presented cheques of four million, two hundred thousand Naira to the families of seven deceased police officers who died while in active service in the State.
According to the CP, the presentation of the cheques was part of the Inspector General of Police, IGP’s family insurance welfare scheme to the families of deceased police officers.
While presenting the cheques, the commissioner said that he appreciates the Inspector General of Police for the gesture, adding that it was timely and would go a long way in alleviating sufferings being faced by families of deceased police officers.
The Commissioner, who represented the IGP, Mr. Usman Alkali Baba assured that officers and men of the Command would continue to put in their best to ensure peace, security and safety of Zamfara State and Nigeria as a whole.
He charged the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously, noting that in the last five months, the Command had received similar cheques from the Inspector General of Police seven times and presented same to the beneficiaries.
“This will serve as morale booster to the serving members of the force to continue to discharge their duties effectively,” he added.
One of the benefiting families, Gloria Hussaini, who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries, commended the Inspector General of Police for the gesture and promised to use the money judiciously.
