Community Policing; Resign if you can’t cope – Gov tells Monarch

The executive Governor of Imo Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has told traditional ruler in the State to resign if they can’t handle Community Policing in their territory.

Uzodinma made the announcement while addressing the monarchs on the importance of getting rid of criminal elements in the State. He also urged the royal fathers to lend their voices by spreading the message on the prevention of the the dreaded virus in their various communities.

The Governor also encouraged the kings to work earnestly towards the total eradication of crimes in their areas, he also warmed that he would not tolerate any mistake when it comes to the safety of lives and properties.

He said he wouldn’t allow any king to rule from abroad, adding that if it were so, the person should resign immediately.

“I will not tolerate any Eze who cannot prevent rape, kidnapping or armed robbery in his community, such traditional ruler should resign, Community Policing is not about ruling from outside your place, you will be held responsible for any security lapses in your community,” Uzodimma said.

On the issue of coronavirus, he said the monarchs should use their platforms to enlighten the people on how best they can prevent the virus.
