Defence Headquarters reveal those behind attack on Gov Zulum

The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, has disclosed that the attack on Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, was perpertrated by Boko Haram elements and not Nigerian Soldiers.

John Enenche, the Coordinator, Defence Headquarters Media Operations made the statement in his response to Zulum’s claim that Soldiers were behind the recent attack on his convoy.

Recall that unknown gunmen had last week Wednesday attacked Zulum’s convoy in Baga, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.

Zulum, while reacting to the attack had alleged sabotage from the military in the fight against insurgency.


Reacting to the governor’s allegation, Enenche disclosed that investigation into the attack disclosed that the shooting was carried out by Boko Haram and not soldiers.

Appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Enenche, said: “We investigated it immediately and the strategic level is cleared of that; operational level cleared of that, tactical level, cleared of that. We analysed the video: you will discover from the sound of the gunshots, it is not the professional weapons that we use.
