[EXTRA] N4.3bn Flyover commissioned by PMB less than a month ago, undergoes reconstruction

The first-ever flyover in Borno state history is currently not in use and is undergoing reconstruction.

Located in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, the flyover is said to be the longest in the North-East.

The flyer-over according to Economic Confidential, was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 23, alongside other giant projects constructed by Governor Babagana Zulum, with the support of celebrated philanthropist, Alhaji Muhammad Indimi.

Abba Sec Maina, a resident of Maiduguri, said that it was true that the flyover was undergoing reconstruction.

“Zulum’s 3-week old flyover is on renovation. I witnessed it,” he said.

Sanusi Ismail Ngulde also shared the picture of the bridge, said, “here is the image of the just concluded 4.3 billion naira flyover. It has cracked down and is being blocked by ECC in just 3 weeks after the commissioning of the project. What a substandard project!” he said.

Another resident, Abubakar Abacha Yurai, told said that, “the reason why that has happened is that the whole flyover and the two lenght of 10KM expressway were all yet to be completed before the President came to commission them. And immediately the President departed the state, the staff of Eighteen Engineering Company (ECC) in charge of the project also departed to their homeland (China) to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. And now they are back to complete the work.”
