Mr Elijah Etim, Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger Command, has called on religious bodies in the state to continue to pray for security agencies to succeed in the ongoing operations against insurgency.

He said that the corps and other security agencies tackling security challenges in the state needed intensified prayers from all the religious groups to succeed.
The commandant also called for more synergy from various religious bodies for him to succeed as the new state commandant of the corps in the state.
Etim said, “We believe in prayers, Nigeria believes in faith, we are a godly nation and the security agencies need the prayers to succeed.
“So, I have come to CAN to ask for cordial synergy and for them to back us up spiritually with prayers for a successful tenure and for the safety of our men who are caught across the 25 Local Government Areas of the state.”
He said that the Corps had high regards for religious bodies and would continue to synergize with them to achieve peace in the state
Responding, Most Rev. Bulus Yohanna, the State CAN Chairman, who was represented by his Vice Chairman, Pastor Ibrahim Ezekiel, assured the commandant that the body would continue to synergize with them and support them with prayers.
