A total number of 14 passengers have been burnt beyond recognition in a ghastly road accident along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Thursday night, May 6, 2021.
CRIMECHANNELS gathered that, among the 14 dead persons, were 3 children from 2 different parents.
It was learnt that the accident occurred when a commercial bus allegedly overtook a vehicle and in the process hit another stationed faulty vehicle, a Toyota Rav 4, parked in the middle of the road.
The driver, it was gathered lost control of the bus, causing the car to flip several times in the air before bursting into flames.
A silver Toyota RAV 4 with registration number, LND 13 GS; a silver Toyota Camry marked, GGE 369 GJ and a Mazda bus with an unidentified number, were all involved in the accident which claimed the lives of 14 people.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Apokesman of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), confirmed the tragic accident on Friday morning, May 7.
Akinbiyi said that 14 passengers were confirmed burnt to death in the tragic incident, adding that three were gravely injured.
He said TRACE operatives and other security agencies rushed two victims to the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Centre and one other to the General Hospital, Gbagada, Lagos.
Meanwhile, the traffic compliance and enforcement corps, TRACE, has warned Drivers to be careful and desist from over-speeding, wrongful overtaking and an overbearing attitude that may expose other road users to risk and danger.
