Governor allays fear as Military Aircrafts begin air surveillance

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, on Sunday, addressed the people of Benue State in an attempt to calm their nerves following rising tension as a result of a continued aerial surveillance operation by Military aircraft in Markurdi and other communities in Benue State.

CRIMECHANNELS learnt that Ortom spoke at Petros Assembly International during a Thanksgiving and child dedication service.

Ortom who confirmed the air raid in Makurdi, said that the surveillance was targeted at flushing out criminal elements and bandits from their secret hideouts.

Speaking further, he assured the people of Benue of their safety, adding that there is no cause for alarm.

He said, “There should be no fear at all. The Military are doing everything humanly possible to make sure that the bandits are completely wiped out.”

He urged them to go about their lawful businesses with any form of panic or intimidation.

Meanwhile, he appealed to them to cooperate with security operatives, as well as assist the Police in providing credible information that could possibly led to the arrest of bandits and other criminal elements in the state.
