Guber candidate dumps Obi’s LP, decamps to another Party, few hours to elections
The Governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Adamawa State Engr Umar Mustapha has handed his campaign structure to the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.
Mustapha won the LP governorship ticket after losing at the APC primary.
He said during a ceremony on Thursday evening in Yola that although he remained in the governorship race under the Labour Party, the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, does not have his goodwill.
He said the Labour Party was all about Obi and the aspirations of other candidates at the various levels do not matter to the former Anambra Governor.
He said: “I remain the Labour Party governorship candidate in Adamawa State, but for the presidential election, my structure is for Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu.
“After extensive discussion and consultations, we decided to collapse our entire structure into the APC structure for the presidential election.”
He urged all his supporters to vote for the APC presidential ticket on Saturday.
