Gun Shootout: Governor clears air on alleged plot to kill Minister
Osun State government has denied claims that the state has plotted to assassinate its former Governor and current Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
There were reports on Tuesday that the Rasaq Salinsile faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state alleged that the state government has masterminded a plot to kill Aregbesola.
The Salinsile APC faction alleged that the state government had plotted to kill the former governor by laying an ambush for his entourage when he visited the Iwo Federal Constituency in the state on Tuesday.
But while reacting, Akere, the Special Adviser to the stae Governor, Gboyega Oyetola on Political Matters, denied the plot.
Addressing APC party members at the residence of Chief Bisi Akande, in Ila-Oragun on Tuesday, he said there was no truth in the claim, adding that some political hoodlums were only trying to cause crisis in the state.
“There is no truth in the claim that there are plans to assassinate Aregbesola, ” he said.
