Gunmen set Patrol vehicle on fire, attack Vigilante Commander

A Vigilante commander in Kaduna state, Musa Audu, was severely injured with bullets on Thursday when suspected bandits burnt down the patrol vehicle of his team along Manini community, near Kurega town, in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the vigilante group were having their routine patrol on the road on Thursday when the bandits attacked them.

While confirming the incident, a leader in the community, Mohammadu Umaru, said the terrorists blocked the highway for hours on Thursday evening after setting ablaze the vigilante group van

Umaru said: “The vigilante commander was hit with a bullet on his shoulder, but thank God he is responding to treatment.”


As of press time, an official statement on the incident was yet to be obtained.
