Husband allegedly stabs wife to death, says she’s no longer submissive to him

Policemen in Benue State have arrested a man identified as Bem Matthew of Korinya-City, Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State, for stabbing his wife to death on Tuesday.

According to reports, it was the man’s neighbours who alerted men of the Konshisha Divisional Police Station when he committed the crime.

Responding to questions at the police station, the suspect confessed that he stabbed his wife to death because she was no longer “submissive to him”.

An eyewitness, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the deceased was stabbed on the rib, back and thigh.

It was reported that the union between the man and his wife was blessed with four children.

The remains of the deceased was deposited at the mortuary of Saint Joseph’s Clinic and Maternity, Korinya City .

Meanwhile, as of press time, the Benue State Police spokesperson, SP Catherine Anekwe, could not be reached for comments.
