I sell gun for N20, 000 get N5, 000 Commission- Arms Dealer opens up

The Delta State Police Command, while parading 11 persons suspected to be armed robbers in Yenagoa, the capital of the State, identified one of the suspects as an arms seller.

The suspect, simply identified as Mr. Nwoka Obiora, confessed his crimes, by saying that he sells the guns for N20,000 and gets N5,000 commission on each sale.

The suspect, who is a native of Agudama Ekpetiama community in Yenagoa, was identified by a Policeman as an ex convict that broke out from prison some months back after having been arrested by Police operatives as part of a criminal gang.

He however confessed his crimes by saying, “I sell guns at N20,000 each and a get commission of N5,000 on each gun I sell. I just started not quite long and I have sold only six since I started. I don’t know the people I sell to because I am just a distributor. They are locally-made pistols and I don’t manufacture.


“I am into the sale of guns business because I don’t like using the guns to rob people. I am from Agudama Ekpetiama community in Yenagoa Local Government Area.

While briefing newsmen, the Commissioner of Police, Nkereuwem Apkan, disclosed that the suspects were arrested during the command’s raids on criminal flashpoints during the COVID-19 lockdown. Displayed with the suspects were 18 weapons and 20 bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.
