IG of Police recalls Police officers attached to EFCC to Force Hdqters

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has called back some Police officers attached to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The officers have been instructed to report to the force headquarters in Abuja, where they will be given new assignment.

CRIMECHANNELS understands that the Police hierarchy wants to rid the Agency of those suspected to have close ties to the suspended Chairman, Ibrahim Magu

It could be recalled that the IGP, Mohammed Adamu, had in the past withdrew the Police officers attached to Magu, when his probe started.

Also, 12 directors of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have been suspended indefinitely.

Some of them had handled the investigation of corruption allegations against Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the federation and Minister of justice, who is playing a key role in the EFCC probe.

The Commission’s Secretary, Olanipekun Olukoyede, is also on indefinite suspension. Mohammed Umar, the director of operations, now acts as the chairman of the commission
