JUST IN; 19 ISWAP Terrorists killed by Nigerian Troops, Civilian [JTF]

No fewer than 19 terrorists of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) have been killed during Militar operations in Ngala Council of Borno State.

The terrorists were killed by troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF).

The border settlement with Cameroun is 235 kilometres east of Maiduguri, the state capital.

The terrorists were killed on October Tuesday after Soldiers overcame an ambush during a patrol of Dikwa-Gambouru axis.

Confirming the incident, yesterday, in Maiduguri, a counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed: “A large number of the terrorists laid an ambush for the troops on patrol and began firing from gun trucks and motorcycles,” adding that the military overcame in the nearly one-hour gun duel.


He continued: “The troops later overwhelmed the terrorists and they fled towards Lake Chad.

“The troops captured a gun truck after killing its occupants, while nine AK-47 rifles and motorcycles each were also recovered.

“No fatalities were recorded on the side of troops, as only two soldiers were injured and evacuated for treatment at a Maiduguri hospital.”
