JUST IN; Another PDP Governor dumps party, decamps to APC – Presidency confirms

The rank of the All Progressives Congress [APC] Governors forum has swollen as Zamfara State, Governor, Bello Matawalle has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the party.

The move, CRIMECHANNELS learnt was made known on Sunday, June 27, by the Personal Assistant to Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari on Digital and New Media, Bashir Ahmed.

Bashir took to his verified Facebook page and posted, “So Zamfara is back home! Welcome, Matawalle’’.

According to reports, Governor Bello has not made any official statement confirming his defection to the APC.

But in April, 2021, it was reported that he was visited by 6 Governors who are members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), according to many sources, the visit seemed like a move to persuade the Governor to join the APC.


The Governors who visited him back in April were; Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Nyesom Wike (Rivers State), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi State), Darius Ishaku (Taraba State), Umar Fintiri (Adamawa State), and Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto State).

  1. Useless stomach politicians that have no idea of what leadership looks like. After stealing they simply jump to parties that accommodate criminals. Jumping from pillar to post. Most of them are corrupt politicians with unstable character. Nigerians must mark them and reject them in the next election come 2023.
    We still have perfect gentlemen like Makarfi of Kaduna State, David Mark who had the opportunity to maintain Senate presidency choose to step down for Saraki etc.

    No normal person will join a Party like APC that have failed this country economically, security, even the Unity of the country is shaking. With sponsorship groups like IPOB, Sunday Igboho, Niger Delta etc will spread surprises.

    Fuel price, food price school fees etc now out of reach of poor man and yet someone will tell me APC is his preferred Party, you will all be disgraced come 2023. There should be more pressure for the amendment of the Electoral laws kowei otherwise they will employ violence to remain in power, shamelessly.
