A video showing one of the abducted victims of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State was released by bandits. The victim, a Pregnant student at the institution identified by the bandits as Hajiya pleaded with her parents to come to her rescue.
Recall that the bandits had invaded the institution on the 12th of March, 2021 and abducted 39 students including the pregnant woman.
According to credible sources, between April 5 and April 8, the bandits released 10 of the abducted students, leaving 29 of them in captivity.
In the video that is 4 minutes and 56 seconds long, which was shot at an undisclosed location, the gunmen asked some of the students to come forward and speak to the camera.
The pregnant woman came forward, faced the camera and began to speak. She pleaded with her parents to come and rescue her from captivity.
In her own words, she said, “We are appealing to our parents to help us, we are tired and there is no food. They should do their best to get us out of this place. We have spent 47 days, almost all of us are ill and there is no food. We sleep in the open even when it rains.”
The bandits also introduced a woman who according to them is a wife of a Military officer. They said she was kidnapped from her home in Tirkania-Agwa in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The woman when allowed to speak pleaded with the Federal Government to come to their rescue.
She disclosed that the bandits are demanding the sum of 30 million naira for their release.
