JUST IN; Command in grief as Commissioner of Police’s house goes up in flames

The residence of the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, CP Olawale Olokode, was said to have caught fire. According to reports, the inferno destroyed properties worth millions of naira.

CRIMECHANNELS gathered that the fire incident happened at about 6:00pm, on Sunday, June 20, 2021.

The Police Public Relations Officer of Osun State Police Command, SP Opalola Yemisi Olawoyin made the disclosure in a Police Press Release on Monday, June 21, 2021.

According to the statement, the building was on fire for about 2 hours before some fire fighters attached to the Osun State Fire Service arrived and eventually put off the fire.

While thanking God that no life was lost in the inferno, the Commissioner expressed his gratitude to everyone who in one way or the other assisted and contributed in putting the fire out. He also said that his family are still shocked over the incident, which has claimed many of their valuable properties.

Meanwhile the Police in Osun State has sympathized with the Commissioner and his family for their loss. While thanking God that no one was killed in the incident, they prayed that God in his infinite mercy replenish in double folds all that was destroyed by the fire.

Finally, the Osun State Police Command expressed its gratitude to the Executive Governor of Osun State, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun, CP Edward Ajogun Awolowo, and everyone, including the fire service for sympathizing with the Commissioner of Police.
