JUST IN; Police Recruitment Exercise: PSC makes promises to shortlisted candidates

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has assured the 171,956 shortlisted candidates invited for the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer Based Test (CBT) of a level playing field.

The test is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, March 5th and 6th, 2024, across the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

The Commission gave the assurance in a statement signed by the Head, Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani.

“Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase, CFR, retired Inspector General of Police, reiterated the Commission’s resolve to ensure that the exercise is merit based and in line with the Federal Character Commission requirements of equal representation,” he said.


He also explained that the Commission will ensure that the exercise is merit based throughout the stages of the recruitment.

The statement added, “Applicants are also advised to visit the recruitment portal; apply.policerecruitment.gov to confirm their status after the screening exercise and if successful also confirm the specific time and date for their Computer based test.”

The Commission noted that upon the completion of the exercise, the nation will be availed the services of additional police manpower to assist in fighting crime and criminality.

Meanwhile, the statement added that the 43,778 applicants who were successful in the specialists cadre during the screening exercise are expected to go through practical tests at a date to be announced soon.
