The Soldier who was seen in a viral video assaulting two Police wardens in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital has been arrested by the Nigerian Army.

Recall that social media was on fire three days ago with a viral video which shows a Soldier beating up two Policemen who were controlling traffic at Adeoyo Road by Ring Road in Ibadan.

Reacting to the incident the Director of Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, said
that the Army Headquarters has ordered an investigation in to the matter.

He also stated that the Soldier in custody is a Lance Corporal; his name withheld.

“Efforts are being made in collaboration with the Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force to identify, locate and arrest the remaining culprits”, Nwachukwu noted.

Nwachukwu said vicious attack on fellow security personnel or unarmed citizens was not consistent with the ethos and professionalism of the Nigerian Army.

“Anyone found culpable in the Ibadan incident will face the full wrath of the disciplinary provisions,” the statement added.
