JUST IN; Suspected kidnapper disguising as lunatic apprehended

Operatives of the Ondo State Security Agency Network codenamed Amotekun Corps have arrested a 30-year-old suspected kidnapper, Labram Ibrahim, who feigned lunacy in Ondo State.

The suspected kidnapper was arrested at Akure garage area of Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area, following the suspicious manner he dressed and walked.

It was gathered that the Corps monitoring the area apprehended him when a black jeep was about to take him away.

According to an eyewitness, prior to his arrest, Ibrahim was roaming around Akure garage to Itanla like a lunatic before the jeep pulled up beside him.

“His action raised suspicion, which made people around the area gather and beat him,” the eyewitness added.

Meanwhile, during interrogation, the suspect who confessed that he was not a lunatic said he was working for his in-law, Rabiu Adamu, in Akure, the state capital.

Ibrahim, who claimed that he hails from Sokoto, explained that Rabiu took him to Akure park and put him in a car going to Ondo town.

“The man paid N700 to the driver and later gave me N1500 to board a car going to Ore and from Ore to Epe where I am going to work. He did not tell me the kind of work he wanted me to do.

“Rabiu was coming behind in his black jeep with three other men inside. He told me to remove my sim card and put it in Akure garage roundabout and proceed to Ore before I was arrested at Itanla because of the way I dressed,” he said.

Men of the Amotekun Corps in Ondo town said they have swung into action to arrest the owner of the black jeep and the three Fulani men in Akure for further interrogation.
