JUST IN: Traditional Ruler abducted, assassinated

Assassins allegedly murdered Yukuben Chiedom’s kindred head in Taraba State’s Takum local government area.

Udeng Ibrahim, the third class chief, was abducted by assassins on Wednesday while riding a motorcycle with his son back from a peace meeting between the traditional rulers of Takum and Ussa.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to newsmen, the traditional ruler and his son were abducted in Kpambo along Takum Kashimbila road around 7 p.m.

The eyewitness who requested anonymity said that, the villagers mobilized for a search for the chief and his son on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday but were unable to locate them within the area.

He stated that the bodies of the two people were later discovered along the road in the early hours of Saturday.

The eye witness gave the name of the son of the traditional ruler who was also killed as Musa Ibrahim.

The former chairman of Takum Local Government Council, who is now Special Adviser to Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku, confirmed the incident to our newsmen, stating that the traditional ruler who was his kindred head was abducted and later killed by unknown persons.
