There is tension in Aba after suspected hoodlums attacked Omoba Police Station in Isiala-Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State. In the process of the attack, 2 Police officers lost their lives.
CRIMECHANNELS gathered that the hoodlums stormed the station at about 2:30 am, Tuesday morning.
It was also gathered that many residents of the area including Police officers are now working in fear after the tragic incident.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer of Abia State Command, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, when contacted, said that some of the hoodlums were shot dead while others escaped with gun shots wounds.
He said, “It was unfortunate that some hoodlums gained access to the station through the court close by and laid ambush on our officers early this morning.”
“We lost 2 of our men during the incident and they burnt down the station using a petrol bomb.”
“Many of them were gunned down while others escaped with severe injuries.”
He said investigation into the matter is ongoing, and that the Police will not rest until those who carry out the wicked act is arrested and prosecuted.
