Kidnappers kill businessman after collecting N8 million ransom

Bandits have killed a 69-year-old automobile spare parts dealer, Mr. Akinluyi Oladipupo after his family had paid N8 million ransom.

The armed men reportedly invaded Oladipupo’s residence in Giwa, Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State and demanded N15million ransom from his family.

Sources revealed that the family of Akinluyi, who hailed from Akure, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, was able to raise N8million.

The abductors were said to have agreed to release Oladipupo if the family could bring the N8 million, but the incident turned sour as the family could not see the victim after the ransom had been paid.

The deceased’s family later discovered that the abductors had killed him and escaped with the ransom.

It was learnt that before Oladipupo’s death, his Ondo family had spoken with him when the abductors first contacted his son for ransom.

Reacting to the incident, the state Police Command disclosed that men of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit are already on the trail of the perpetrators, assuring that they would arrest and make them face the wrath of the law.
