Kidnappers kill motorcyclist after collecting ransom

Suspected bandits have killed a motorcycle rider in Kwoi, Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State, despite being paid the sum of N30,000 to release him after being kidnapped.

Reports say the deceased friends had helped him to contribute the money, thinking he will be released, only for his corpse to be found in bush close to the community.

A source who pleaded anonymity was quoted by news men to have said: “He was kidnapped on 13/01/2022 in Kwoi. His friends were forced to contribute the ransom to secure his release but the bandits still refused to release him after receiving the money. They later killed him.”

Confirming the incident, district head of the community, Mr. Yunusa Idris said, “as soon as the friends contributed the money for his release, everybody in the community was expecting him, but his corpse was discovered.

“The N30,000 ransom they demanded was paid by his friends but was not released because they (bandits) demanded more money which, was not paid,” he said
