Lady mourns brother killed in attack on Presidential Guards in Abuja, says ‘He was our only son’

A Lady, Attachegbe Rita Samuel, has taken to the social media to mourn her brother, who was killed when the guards brigade’s 7 battalion ran into an ambush by gunmen in Abuja on Sunday.

The lady, while mourning her late brother, Samuel Attah in a recent Facebook post, said the deceased captain in the Nigerian Army was the only son of their family.

The Soldiers were said to be on routine patrol along Kubwa-Bwari road when they ran into the ambush.

The lady described the late Soldier, who was said to be on routine patrol along Kubwa-Bwari road before he was killed, as a hero.


She said: “My pride, my hero, my beloved brother…Hmmm I lack words to express this dream. I can’t believe I am typing this.
Rest in a very perfect peace. Captain Attah Samuel. God! God! God! Jesus help my family, my aged parents. Ah! Only son! Who shall defend us!”

It will be recalled that three soldiers sustained injuries from the attack and were moved to the army’s hospital in the federal capital territory (FCT).

A military source had said details on the extent of their injuries were still under confirmation.
