Man, his Lover arrested after Girlfriend allegedly kills, dumps new born Baby inside dustbin
Police operatives in Adamawa State have arrested a young woman identified as Blessing Ben and her lover, Luka Iliyasu, for allegedly killing a baby the woman gave birth to and dumped the corpse in a dustbin.
It was learnt Ben, who resides in Jambutu, Yola North local government Area, was impregnated by Luka Iliyasu who resides at Police Barracks within the same Yola North after they had been dating for two years.
After she gave birth last Saturday, she allegedly killed the infant and dumped it in a dustbin outside her compound.
But she claimed the baby came out lifeless, making her to decide after a while to throw it into a dustbin.
She told the Police that she lives with her aunt, who was out of town at the time she delivered and didn’t know she was pregnant.
She said when she discovered that she gave birth to a dead baby, she kept the corpse for two days after which she dumped it inside the dustbin.
Speaking on the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed that Blessing and her boyfriend, Luka, were in Police custody.
He assured that the Police would unearth all the facts of the story as officials with requisite expertise were still doing their investigations.
