Police operatives have apprehended a man, known as Naso for reportedly stabbing his neighbour to death in his sleep for abusing his wife, in Ondo State.
It was reported that the suspect entered the room of the neighbor identified as Seyi and stabbed him to death in his sleep with a knife.
Journalists gathered that the horrible incident occurred at Messiah High School street in Akure, the state capital.
The suspect who is currently undergoing questioning by the homicide detectives hails from the southeast while the deceased was a native of Iju-Itaogbolu in Akure North council area of the state.
The report said the incident started when the deceased reportedly accused the suspect of abusing his wife in his presence.
The rift got intense and it did not go down well with the suspect following which they engaged themselves in arguments as neighbours tried to calm them.
It was gathered that the suspect still not pleased with the turnout,went to his apartment and when it was midnight he silently went into the deceased room and stabbed him to death. The deceased bled to death before help came from other neighbours.
Naso was subsequently arrested and whisked to the police station and subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for discreet investigation.
Officers in the state command confirmed the report and also advised youths to learn how to settle their differences instead of taking laws into their hands.
