One person shot dead as Police operatives repel gunmen attack on Patrol team
An attack by gunmen at Omege Noyo in Ịkwọ Local Government Area (LGA) of Ebonyi State was repelled by police operatives on Friday.
The gunmen were said to have attacked the Policemen who were attached to a construction company working in the area, before the security operatives pounced on them.
According to reports, one of the gunmen was shot dead during the gun battle, while one of the police officers was severely injured and has been taken to the hospital.
Police spokesperson, Loveth Odah confirmed the incident, but noted that she was yet to get full details of what happened.
She reiterated that the Police are however on the trail of the attackers and expressed hope that they would soon be apprehended.
The attack happened the same day that unknown gunmen attacked and killed a member of the Ebubeagu security outfit in the state.
