Police Commission meets to discuss Police Promotions others

In a bid to settle pending issues of the Police operatives, regarding discipline, investigation, promotion, and other pending matters, the Police Service Commission (PSC), despite the COVID-19 pandemic, has began its 8th plenary meeting to address the issues.

Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Pub­lic Relations, PSC, disclosed that the virtual meeting which commenced on Tuesday and powered by Zoom would come to an end on Thursday.

It would be recalled that the meeting was suspended indefinitely since March 24 and 25 respectively due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

Ikechukwu added that the commission’s chairman, Musiliu Smith, a retired Inspector General of Po­lice, presides over the meeting and it remains the highest decision making body of the commission and it considers recommendations from its different standing com­mittees.

He explained further that all measures outlined by the federal government due to the outbreak of the ravaging coronavirus for effective opening of government offices is being followed base on the PSC COVID-19 committee that was set up by the commission to ensure full compliance with the directives.
