The Plateau Police Command has established a new Divisional Police Headquarters in Bashar, a town in the state’s Wase Local Government Area.

While commissioning the new police headquarters in Bashar, the State Commissioner of Police, Bartholomew Onyeka, stated that the new police headquarters was built in response to the area’s high crime rate.

The commissioner, on the other hand urged the community to provide the Divisional Police Officer and other personnel assigned to the Division with all the assistance they require to carry out the command’s mission, adding that providing timely and useful information to the police at all times would help nip criminal activity in the area in the bud.

The CP took advantage of the opportunity to assure the state that he would do everything in his power to reopen all closed police stations and posts, as this would ensure proper security coverage throughout the state.

The police chief also assured residents of the state that the patrol vehicles donated by members of the community would be put to good use.

Furthermore, he told members of the community that security was everyone’s business, emphasizing the importance of being security conscious as they went about their lawful business.
