Presidential Blessing: Akeredolu visits Buhari ahead of Ondo elections

Ahead of the gubernatorial election in Ondo State, which is slated for October 10, 2020, the incumbent governor of the state, Rotimi Akeredolu, has reportedly visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa.

Making the disclosure via his verified Twitter account, Bashir Ahmad, the President’s aide on new media, tweeted that the incumbent governor visited the President to reveal his intention to seek re-election into office in the upcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

He simply tweeted, “ Governor Rotimi Akeredolu was at the State House, Abuja today, to inform President @MBuhari of his intention to run for his re-election after getting his Expression of Interest forms from the APC National Headquarters.”

Meanwhile, there are conjectures that the incumbent governor’s deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, would defect from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in order to contest against his boss.

However, the conjecture is seeming true based on the recent meetings he had held over the weekend with some party leaders within both APC and PDP.
