Residents send Save our Soul message to Gov as suspected armed herdsmen kill three persons

Again, gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have allegedly killed a religious Catholic Preacher, Mr Sydney Shirsha and 2 other persons in Amudu village in Giza chiefdom of Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

According to reports, Mr Shirsha was attached to St. Mathew’s Catholic Parish, Obi, in Nasarawa.

It was gathered that the incident occurred every early on Saturday morning.

According to an eyewitness, the attack caused panic and confusion in the community. The eyewitness also said that several members of the village sustained various degrees of gunshot injuries as a result of the attack.

Meanwhile, the President of Tiv Development Association (TIDA) in Nasarawa State, Peter Ahemba, confirmed the tragic incident to Journalists in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

He said, “The killing and displacement of the Tiv people of the state in the coordinated attacks have continued unabated since the first attack on Ajimaka community of Doma Local Government that led to the gruesome murder of nine persons about a month ago.”

“We call on His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule, to save our soul. We are being chased out of Nasarawa State and we are appealing to the governor not to allow the seemingly planned elimination of the Tiv community succeed under his watch, “Ahemba pleaded.
