Several gunmen dead, kingpin injured as 2 bandit groups fight over arms, ammunition

A notorious kingpin of one bandit group has been seriously wounded following a rivalry clash between his camp and another bandits’ group in Kastina.

According to reports, the Kingpin identified as Dan Karami, is said to be the mastermind behind the infamous abduction of about 334 school students from a boarding house In Kankara, Kastina state.

CRIMECHANNELS gathered that he sustained serious injuries during the clash between armed men belonging to Mani Na Saleh Mai Dan Doki and his gang at Illela village of Safana Local Government Area of Katsina.

It was learnt that no fewer than 20 members of Dan Karami group were killed by the rival bandit as they fought over the control of some sophisticated guns and ammunition as well as rustled cattle.


According to sources, Dan Karami and his armed group are very notorious for cattle rustling, abduction and terror in communities especially around Safana, Danmusa and parts of Batsari Local Government Areas of Katsina state.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer of Kastina state, Isa Gambo, confirmed the incident.

He however, said that he can’t give more details due to Police operatives are investigating the matter.
