Thirteen [13] kidnap victims escape from captivity as drunk bandits sleep off

No fewer than 13 persons out of the over 136 people, including school children that were abducted by armed bandits in Tegina town and the Salihu Tanko Islamic school over 2 weeks ago in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger state have escaped from their captors.

CRIMECHANNELS gathered that the victims escaped when the bandits that held them captive were asleep due to they were very drunk.

The victims opened the door quietly, and steadily came out, then fled into the bush. According to reports, it was on Saturday morning, that they had realized they were kept in one of the strongholds of the bandits camp which was located in a forest in Zamfara State.

It was learnt that the escapees agreed to move in different directions for immediate help and to avoid attracting undue attention from the armed bandits said to have a well organized security structure inside the forest.

Their movement paid off when one of the escapess reached Tegina town, where he told the people residing in the area what had happened.

It was gathered that the people then alerted the Niger State Government who then mobilized some Police officers to the forest in an attempt to rescue those who are still held captive.

Meanwhile, the 13 persons are said to have be taken to a Hospital to receive immediate treatment.
