Thirteen [13] PDP Governors in closed door meeting with Makinde in Ibadan

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has hosted Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal and his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike and 11 other Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

CRIMECHANNELS gathered that the Governors converged on Monday, May 17, at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

According to reports, the Governors are expected to discuss issues of party politics and the state of the nation with focus on security and economy among other concerns.

Besides Wike and Tambuwal, who is the Chairman, PDP Governors’ Forum, other Governors in attendance include; Okezie Ikpeazu, (Abia), Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa), Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom).

Others include Bala Muhammed (Bauchi), Duoye Diri (Bayelsa), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Benedict Ayade (Cross River), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Darius Ishaku (Taraba) and Bello Matawalle (Zamfara), who is being represented by his Deputy, Mr. Aliyu Gusau.

It was gathered that the Governors arrived at the venue in an Oyo State marked white Coaster bus at about 1:30 pm in the afternoon.

In his welcome address, Chairman of the PDP Forum, Governor Tambuwal said the Forum was happy to be in Ibadan for the second PDP Governors forum meeting outside Abuja since the forum started.

He thanked the host Governor, Seyi Makinde, for accepting to host the meeting and the reception extended to the visitors in terms of hospitality.

He also thanked the government and people of Oyo State for the opportunity to make the event conducive while also thanking the management and staff of the IITA for providing the venue as a result of the closeness with the Oyo state government.

Speaking further, he politely asked the press to excuse them as they began the business of the day.
