Three security men, driver injured as House Speaker escaped death in convoy’s accident
Three security men attached to the Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Wale Egbedun and his driver have been reportedly involved in a road accident that occurred in Dagbolu, Osun State.
According to The PUNCH, the four men have been hospitalised since the road accident occurred on Sunday along Osogbo/Ikirun road, but the speaker was not in the car when it happened.
The vehicle, said to be conveying three operatives of the Department of State Service and the driver, was heading towards Odo Otin local government, accompanying Egbedun to his Constituency, where he had planned to attend church service.
Speaking with The PUNCH, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Olamide Tiamiyu, said those in the car sustained minor injury and were treated in a private hospital in Osogbo.
He also said Egbedun was not in the car, having travelled earlier with another set of people.
“The accident happened around Dagbolu along Osogbo/Ikirun road on Sunday. Three DSS men and a driver were in the vehicle when it happened. One of the tyres had problem and the driver lost control of the vehicle.
“Two of the DSS men had slight cut and were treated in a private hospital in Osogbo. The other two people in the vehicle were discharged this morning.
“The Speaker was not in the vehicle. It was a minor accident,” Tiamiyu declared.
