The defense headquarters(DHQ), on Sunday, said brave men of operation Hadarin daji under operation accord have killed scores of bandits and criminal elements of the boko haram/Islamic west Africa Province terrorist fighters in Kastina and Zamfara State respectively.
This statement was made available to newsmen in Abuja by the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, DMO, Major General John Enenche.
According to the statement, “Troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI, Thursday foiled armed bandits attack at Mara Zamfarawa village in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State”.
It also added that six bandits were killed, while other sustained gunshots wounds. The statement also revealed that after intelligence was gathered, some troops at Dunya village in Danmusa Local Government Area, captured suspected bandits informers and they have being taken to a secure base for interrogation.
The statement also revealed items that were recovered from the bandits, they include one fabricated AK 47 rifle and 29 rounds of 7.62 special ammunition as well as cutlasses and charms.
Further more, the statement revealed that on the 27th oI June 20, following credible intel about a kidnap incident at Yar Galadima and Mashanyin Zaki villages in Dansadau by bandits on four motorcycles, Troops moved quickly to the area and successfully rescued two kidnapped persons.
A Volkswagen Golf car with registration number MRR 47 XA was also recovered by the troops during the mission, it was believed to be the car used in transporting the kidnapped victims.
The statement ended with a congratulatory message from the Army Chief, for their professionalism and bravery, while going about their duties to ensure a much safer Nigeria.
