Two [2] gunmen on way to carry out robbery operation arrested by Police operatives

Two suspected male robbers were apprehended by the Police in Ogun State on Tuesday. The robbers, who were on a motorcycle, were said to have tried to avoid a patrol team.

CRIMECHANNELS gathered that the Police after arresting them, conducted a search and discovered that they were in possession of a locally made pistol, charms and ammunition.

The was disclosed in a statement by the Police Relation Officer in Ogun State, Abimbola Oyeyemi. He said that the robbers, whose identifies he gave as; Rasheed Ayinde and Matthew Oladipupo were arrested on Tuesday.

He said, “The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Onipanu Division, Ota, Bamidele Job was on patrol with his men and sighted the suspects on a motorcycle, but when the two suspects saw the patrol team, they attempted to make a u-turn. The Police stopped them”

Oyeyemi said that the suspects confessed that they were on their way to rob before they were accosted by the Police.

Oyeyemi said the suspects would be charged to court once investigation is completed.
